January's Competition - Week 2

Well, what can we say. The turning of the New Year brought more than thoughts of post Christmas diets, fitness drives and thinking the living room looks rather bare without a tree in the corner. It also delivered a mega-priced 25/1 from Eric Winner. Instantly players suffered a 52pt hammering. Not my idea of fun. In fact I feel rather deflated. A brilliant winner and great boon to the skills of Eric. Shukman is showing good form after winning last month's prize and Marc found a nice each-way victor for 10.4pts, perhaps wishing he had gone for the straight win (says the bloke (me) who went for an odds-on loser). The only other winner was found by Rawnsley with 5.75pts. So Eric has everyone searching for that elusive big priced winner. It looks a stiff task to beat him but all players can do is try. With it being a long month this week could be particularly important. 12 O'Clock deadline. Good luck to all.
